HERE TO HELP
If your dog is happier at home, recovering from illness or an operation, elderly or a youngster! Whiskers Pet Care Ltd offers "flying visits". Your dog can be let out for that all important wee break. Water bowls can be checked and food bowls filled up if it's their meal time, cuddles given and a race or two round the garden if appropriate or up to a 40 minute walk. Any medication or extra care can also be given under your instruction.
Hourly rate £10.00 (within a 5 mile radius of New Milton).
FAMILIARISATION
Prior to booking with us, we ask all our clients to bring their dog(s) for a familiarisation visit, and complete a detailed questionnaire. This ensures that the dog(s) and their owners are comfortable with us and our home and lets us get to know the dog(s) to ensure that they will fit in to our home and that we know everything we need to ensure their happiness and safety whilst in our care. For overnight boarding we require new boarders to have an overnight stay before their planned stay commences, this is a new licensing requirement.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU AND YOUR DOG
All dogs must be micro-chipped and be up to date with their vaccinations, including kennel cough. Proof of both will be required before we can accept your booking. This is part of our licensing regulations.
We also require all dogs to be treated for worms, fleas and tics within the three days prior to the beginning of their stay with us.
All dogs must be house trained, non-destructive, non-aggressive and friendly.
We require all owners to complete and sign a detailed questionnaire about their dog (and to be honest in their answers), sign a veterinary release form and sign our terms and conditions. Please print these forms off, complete them and bring them with you when they drop off your dog/s for the first time. Forms can be found at the bottom of the page.
You will need to provide all the food and treats that your dog(s) will require along with bedding, bowls and leads.
SAFETY FIRST
Safety for all the dogs in our care is always paramount for us. We insist on vaccinations being up to date, to comply with our licensing regulations but also for the health of all the dogs in our care.
Even if we have an Off-Lead Waiver form signed by our clients, we will only let dogs off the lead when we are confident they will return to us and the area is safe to do so.
We are not able to board or offer day care for any dogs or cross breeds of dogs on the dangerous dogs list.
Although Whiskers Pet Care Home Boarding endeavours to accommodate animals with special requirements, we may refuse any animal that is not suitable for our care. This may include Bitches in season or coming into season and unfortunately, cannot accept entire males.
ARE YOU USING A LICENSED DOG BOARDER?
With the rise in the use of home dog boarders and day carers do you understand the importance of using a licensed operator?
If you choose someone who is operating illegally without a licence the chances are that their insurance will be invalid should anything happen to your pup.
When you choose a licensed dog boarder you can be safe in the knowledge that they have had to prepare policies that adhere to the Animal Welfare Law (licensed activities) 2018.
These policies include cleaning regimes, exercise and play plans, emergency procedures in the event of a fire or flood etc and many more.
There will have been an inspection of the property to ensure it is suitable and safe. The inspector will decide how many dogs they feel is safe to have in the home, so there is no worry of cramming dogs in, stacking them in crates, or leaving them all day to go and do another job.
The licensed dog boarder will have also had to pay a licence fee which shows they are invested in what they do.
There are some unlicensed boarders who are very good, but they are operating illegally and there is a fine and prison sentence attached to the offence.
